In the summer of 2020, we have been selected by the Royal Society to present out research that has been figuring out what the roles bacteria have in our odour. Believe it or not, the whifs that you would recognise as body odour (BO) are the products of bacteria living in your underarm. Why do they do this? We don't know? How do this do this - we have figured this out and will explain all below but it turns out the we produce the starting molecules (for no other apparent) reason that they use, suggesting that this is something that us and our microbes have co-evolved for thousands of years....
